Our History

Our family has grown!

Rescue Ridge is carrying on the legacy of Highland Kennel. As with Highland Kennel, Rescue Ridge has always had the dog and cat bug. Since 2002, Rescue Ridge has saved, housed and given veterinary care to thousands of homeless animals.

Rescue Ridge at Highland Kennel is, for us, the opportunity to create a new, additional way to help animals. We’re growing Highland Kennel into a self-sustainable kennel with proceeds going to homeless animals in need of veterinary care and a place to call home until they find their furever homes.

Our Beautiful Location

Located in a soothing, beautiful country setting on the border of New Jersey’s Monmouth and Ocean Counties. Just minutes from Wall, Jackson, Brick, Freehold, Manasquan, Tom’s River and Lakewood. Convenient to the Parkway, Route 9, Route 195 and 547 (Squankum Rd).

We Treat Your Pup

We provide decades of experience caring for animals that allows us to provide professional supervision with TLC, treating each and every dog as if they are our own.

Longevity and Our Extra Touch

We have customers who have been with us since the 1980s and continue to bring us each new generation of their pets. We’ve worked long and hard to become a special facility with steadfast clients, some of whom come from very far away to take advantage of the extra attention and care we provide for animals. They think it’s worth the trip for the peace of mind they have when forced to be away from their pets, knowing we’re here having a blast together and caring for them should anything unexpected arise.
